【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardprovidesguidanceonthedesignofsystemsfortheprotectionofstructuresagainstlightningandontheselectionofmaterials.Recommendationsaremadeforspecialcasessuchasexplosivesstoresandtemporarystructures,e.g.cranesandspectatorstandsconstructedofmetalscaffolding.Guidanceisalsogivenontheprotectionofelectronicallystoreddata.TheprincipleinformingalltheprovisionsofthisBritishStandardisthatofthe"Faradaycage"formoflightningprotection,andinstallationsemployingalternativetechnologiesfalloutsidethescopeofthisBritishStandard.ProtectionofoffshoreoilandgasinstallationsdoesnotfallwithinthescopeofthisBritishStandard.NOTEWherecurrent-carryingconductorsaredirectlyassociatedwithstructureslyingwithinthescopeofthiscodeofpractice,certainrecommendationsrelatingtothemareincluded;however,theprotectionofradarstations,overheadtelephonewires,electrictractionandsupplylinesshould,onaccountoftheirspecialnature,bedeterminedbytheappropriateauthorities.
